THE VAULT

Designed to resemble a mid-century bank, The Vault has strikingly tall ceilings, tall thin columns, and daring roof overhangs. This home is designed around a central atrium that allows light to flow throughout the interior. The atrium represents a “vault” like a traditional bank building. A maze-like layout of the home keeps the public spaces grand while discreetly separating the valuable private areas of the house. Small discrete hallways emulating secret passageways lead you to the family’s private spaces on the lower level. The robust symmetry of the central atrium transports the viewer back in time, as if they were waiting for a teller in the 1950s.
